What this site does not collect

It is worth being specific about this, because most privacy policies describe activity that is not happening. None of the following take place on bikepartsfinder.com:

What is collected

Three things happen that involve information about you, and that is the complete list.

Web server logs. The hosting provider records ordinary access information each time a page is requested. That includes your IP address, the browser and device you are using, the page requested and the time of the request. A caching cookie. The site uses caching software to serve pages quickly, which may set a technical cookie in your browser. It carries no information about you and is not used to recognise you.
Your search, when you press search. The parts search form passes the words you typed and the category you chose to eBay, along with a reference code identifying this site as the source of the visit. Nothing is stored here, and nothing happens until you actually press the button.

Why, and the lawful basis

Under UK data protection law any processing needs a lawful basis. The basis relied on here is legitimate interests.

Server logs are kept for security and reliability. The legitimate interest is keeping the site online, diagnosing faults and identifying attacks or abuse. This is a routine expectation of running a website and has no meaningful effect on the privacy of an ordinary visitor.

Your rights
