I am Adrian Falder. I am a time served maintenance engineer and a biker, and I am neither a motorcycle mechanic by trade nor a parts dealer. That is the reason this is a search tool and a set of honest notes rather than a shop.
Why this site exists
Searching for motorcycle parts on a general marketplace is miserable. You type in what you need and get car parts, phone cases and listings from four thousand miles away, while the part you actually want sits three pages down under a slightly different name.
The search on this site is the search I would run myself, with the motorcycle parts category already selected and the clutter filtered out before you start.
What you get here
- A parts search that is already filtered to motorcycle parts rather than everything on the internet.
- Guidance by manufacturer covering how each one numbers its parts, where supply gets difficult, and which models are awkward and why.
- Honest advice about when not to buy used. On small capacity bikes a used part is frequently dearer than new once postage is counted, and the articles here say so even though saying so earns nothing.
- Plain English. No jargon for the sake of it, and no pretending a straightforward job is harder than it is.
What I am not
This matters more than a list of credentials would.
- Not a qualified motorcycle technician. My trade background is maintenance engineering, which teaches you how things fail and how to work methodically, but it is not the same as time in a bike workshop.
- Not a dealer or parts factor. I have no trade account, no stock and no commercial relationship with any manufacturer.
- Not a reviewer of individual products. The articles cover sourcing rather than testing specific components.
For anything safety critical on your own machine, use a professional. That is not a disclaimer for the sake of it, it is what I would tell a mate.
How the site makes money
